Welcome to the Eye Wellness Blog

Hi everyone! I am Dr. Laurie Capogna and I would like to welcome you to the Eye Wellness Blog – a positive environment where you can learn about current topics of health and wellness as they pertain to ourselves, our eyes and our environment.

The Eye Wellness team and I will share our knowledge about eye health and vision, as well as personal stories of our individual journeys as we strive to live balanced lives. Some posts may be educational, others may be inspirational and sometimes, we may hope to just bring a smile to your face.

This year, 2020, presents us with challenges that can seem unsurmountable. The suffering the entire world has endured due to COVID-19, the horrendous racial inequities that continue to exist and the devastating effects that climate change is having on our wildlife and the earth, all weigh heavily on our minds and in our hearts every day.

Many days it may seem hard to find positivity, to feel hopeful or to have the desire to move forward and use our voice and everyday actions to help propel us to a brighter future. When we live in a state of uncertainty and feel like we can’t control what is happening around us, it can bring upheaval and distress even to the most harmonious minds. It may seem impossible to surrender and accept that we are not in control, so alternatively, it can help to focus on small things every day that we can control.

We will strive, through this blog, to empower you with small choices and habits that can help restore some control in your everyday life.

Every journey needs a first step. I am taking my first step to try to make a difference and help our world heal by starting this blog for the Eye Wellness community. I invite you to join me and the
Eye Wellness team on this journey.
