Laser eye surgery is an option available to many people who need vision correction but want to do away with contact lenses and glasses.
Laser vision correction is a technique used to correct refractive issues that cause myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), and astigmatism. While it is an exciting prospect for many people that need vision correction, unfortunately, this procedure is not the best solution for everyone.
That’s where we come in: Eye Wellness professionals are ready and able to help you determine if laser eye surgery is the right vision correction option for you. If after a consultation we determine refractive eye surgery is a viable option, we will advocate for you throughout the entire process by educating you and providing pre and post-surgery care to optimize your success.
First, during your initial consultation, we will conduct a series of tests and procedures to determine whether you are a candidate for the procedure. We need to be sure your eyes are healthy enough to undergo the surgery, as well as determine whether there are any unusual risk factors. We also consider things such as your corneal thickness or other variables that may affect what kind of surgery you have.
We encourage you to ask any questions you may have about the procedure, and we take the time to carefully review the process and determine whether laser eye surgery is the best fit for you.
Once all parties are confident in the surgical process and you have booked with an ophthalmologist, we will prepare you for your surgery by going over all the necessary details before the date arrives. We will be sure to take the time to answer all of your queries and do our best to give you information regarding questions to ask your surgeon.
We discuss things like:
Once you have undergone your surgery, we will get in touch with you to see how your recovery is going and schedule a follow-up appointment.
If you have any concerns about the results, we talk those over and reiterate what to expect throughout your recovery.
At your follow-up appointment, we will test your vision and examine your eyes to ensure that your vision is stable, clear, and that the surgery was a success. We also let you know when you are ready to drive again.
